"The foreign language department presents an opportunity for the student to learn reading, writing, speaking and to understand oral languages as much as is possible in two years. Training in any one of the five foreign languages offered gives basic experience in language study that will assist him should the student, later in life, whish to study another foreign lanuage or continue the same one studied in high school. Foreign language is primarily studied to learn the language, but we learn our own language more thoroughly as we study a foreign language."
