The Pacific Lutheran College Campus was the home of the nine delagates who attended
Boys' State From June 10 to 18, 1959. Richland had the largest number of
representatives in the state.
The Boys' State Administrator for this event was the
American Legion, however, each boy was sponsered by a different Richland organization.
These Sponsors were: The Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Hanford Atomic Metal Trades
Council, Disabled American Veterans, Chemical Workers, Police Athletic League,
International Rotary Club, Hanford Guards, and Independent Order of Foresters.
The purpose of Boys' State is to give the boys a general idea of how to run
